La Kav Wines | A Wild Trip!

I have recently been engaged by La Kav Wines for their social media presence and what a trip I’m on. I will start off by saying, I am not a social media expert and the inner workings of the various portals are completely new to me. However, speaking with the Managing Director, it was obvious they wanted to add a more professional look and design to their communications and felt I would add value. I met the MD via another client I was working with to produce event graphics and after that project closed he approached me to see if I could enable him to get his ideas out! It has been a total pleasure working with a passionate, professional dedicated to his business and this makes my job so much easier. My first idea was to establish a brand and design personality for the company on social media. So to be clear, I did not design the logo, this was done by The Design Girls. What I was trying to establish was a tone for the company and I was tasked with creating a consistent look, a swatch of colours and fonts that would support their brand on social media. This company has been very proactive on line and specifically their Instagram and Facebook. Their business profile was established. I just wanted to polish what they had, uplift the colours and images used and translate their message visually.

Their business is 2 areas. They import French wine they sell on La Kav Wines. But also they are growing and creating an Irish Wine in Gorey. As I type this is currently a juice and maturing nicely ready for shelves in 2022. So there is a consistent story, a story of perseverance, and dedicated to this mad but totally engaging dream and central to all of this is a love for wine. So it is my job to create a consistent look to the sale of wines and also the back story of the growth of their vines. It is perfect as a story for Social Media. As they are from Wexford, it was extremely important to put the Purple front and centre! By adding a light script font, I added personality but also a touch of class. The font is used across all communications and while I changed the colour at Christmas to a green bokeh affect, it was still important to maintain the high end appeal of the product. French wine is forbidden from certain practices that add certain types of flavourings and additives to the product so by its very existence, French wine is a higher quality!…and, stop the press, less likely to produce hangovers!! So ultimately La Kav French Wines deserved a look that was high end.

This client has passion, they have an open mind. They trust me to visualise their dream and to tell their story online. There is no better client for a Freelance Graphic Designer like myself. This is a partnership with future, a story to tell and what a story. I am totally honoured to be part of it and I am thoroughly enjoying the ride!
